Fiber Optics Semiconductor Division Lead-Free Initiative

A significant proponent of RoHS legislation is the ban on lead, which directly affects fiber optics transceivers.
Lead-Free
Lead (Pb) -Free is defined by JEDEC-J-STD-006A as follows: electronics products are considered Lead-Free when none of their components or raw materials contain (Pb) that is intentionally added, or contain more than 0.1% of incidental Pb impurities by weight.
